An Analysis of Fakhr Razi's Approach in Dealing with the Readings (of the Quran) in Mafatih al-Ghayb

| The level of adherence of a prominent interpreter such as Fakhr Razi to a specific reading (of the Quran) and interpretation of the Quran on the basis of it is one of the points that widens the audience's horizon in using his interpretation. Using the descriptive-analytical method, this study explores Fakhr Razi's approach in Tafsir al-Mafatih al-Ghayb to the differences in readings of the Quran. In dealing with this issue, he is sometimes silent, and at times he only suffices to mention the differences in readings, and in the interpretation of some verses, he analyzes them and chooses one particular reading by mentioning the relevant reasons. Fakhr Razi has made use of the knowledge of readings (of the Quran) in interpretation to expand the meanings of verses, as well as to reinforce meanings and remove ambiguity from challenging verses. |
