Honoring Da'bal al-Khazā'i for supporting the Ahl al-Bayt (as) in word and deed, and Imam Riḍā's (as) request to him to continue composing the elegy and emphasizing the discursive preservation of the ‘Āshūrá occurrence in the language of poetry, and mentioning the joy of the enemies and the sorrow of the Ahl al-Bayt (as) in the lamentation of Imam Hossein (as) indicates the discursive confrontation and Imam Riḍā's (as) special concern in commemorating and emphasizing the mourning for Imam Hossein (as) and reviving the culture of ‘Āshūrá. The article analyzes the narrative discourse by applying the method of critical discourse analysis and analyzing the textual structure of the hadith at the level of description, discovering the implications of the cognitive application of the discourse at the level of interpretation, and aspects of the confrontation of Imam Riḍā's (as) discourse against competing discourses at the level of explanation. Based on the results of this research, the Imam's complete mastery of the rival discourse, encouraging Shiites to defend their culture, inventing a true bipolarity against false bipolarity, increasing insight into the plans of the Umayyads and Abbasids, cadre formation of pure Shiites in the position of action, recalling the secret of unity, cohesion, and dynamism of Shia and Islam in light of the mention of the uprising of Imam Hossein (as), etc., are revealed through the discourse analysis of this narrative.
