Convincing the audience is one of the most effective tools in attracting and guiding people towards the divine religion. Therefore, the present study examines Qur’anic examples of rhetorical persuasion employed by the prophets, drawing on the Qur’an—the most comprehensive source for human well-being in this world and the hereafter—and focusing on authoritative tafsir and primary sources. The research findings indicate that the divine prophets utilized various methods of rhetorical persuasion—namely wisdom (ḥikmah), good advice (maw‘iẓat ḥasanah), and the best argumentation (jidāl al-aḥsan)—in accordance with the audience’s capacity and the exigencies of the time. This study analyzes the method of wisdom through the example of Prophet Ibrahim (as) in refuting idolatry, proving the existence of the origin and resurrection, and presenting the wisdom behind actions. It also examines the use of good exhortation in the conduct of Prophet Shu‘ayb, Prophet Luţ, and the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon them), and explains the rhetorical method of the best argumentation employed by the prophets. The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach based on library research and data collection.
